PAYMENTS/DEPOSITS
A £50.00 deposit is required for all CBT's and the balance must be paid 7 days prior to attending. All phone enquiries will be provisionally booked but clients who pay a deposit or the fee in full will be given priority.
A FULL lesson fee is required as a deposit for all lessons.
INSURANCE
All our motorcycles are comprehensively insured against road risks and the company has comprehensive public liability insurance. You must note, however, that our packages do not include insurance cover for illness / personal injury, or any other unplanned reason to terminate or cancel a course. If you have any concerns regarding this, we would strongly advise you to make your own arrangements in relation to this matter.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT
GEG supply jackets, gloves and a full face approved safety helmet. Slip on shoes, sandals or dress shoes are not suitable for riding a motorcycle. If you attend the course wearing this type of footwear, you will be unable to ride*. We do not recommend you wear steel toe capped boots. You are welcome to bring your own helmet and motorcycle clothing if you wish. GEG will not accept liability for injuries sustained as a direct consequence of not wearing a full face safety helmet.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
Motorcycling is a physically demanding activity, clients need to have a reasonable level of fitness and be generally able bodied. We are unable to cater for clients who cannot pass the standard drivers eye sight test*(The ability to read a number plate from 20.5m).
Individuals who have limbs in plaster or need the support of crutches or other walking aids cannot be accommodated safely at GEG. Our motorcycles are standard and as such are not suitable for clients who need modified controls to ride. All Clients receiving medication or treatment for any ailment or disability should disclose this fact to GEG Rider Training at the time of course booking. If you have had your licence revoked for medical reasons you will be unable to participate in any of the courses at GEG Rider Training.
DOCUMENTATION
When attending a GEG Rider Training course, it is essential that you bring your photo card driving licence and paper counterpart. If clients arrive without the proper documentation, we will, if possible contact DVLA on their behalf to verify their entitlement this will be charged to the client at £5.00. Where this is not possible clients will not be able to participate*. If you do not hold a photo card licence, we require you to bring a valid passport*. We require all licence holders to disclose to us details of any convictions or endorsements recorded on their drivers licence. All licences will be checked at the centre and undisclosed offences could jeopardise your right to participate*
ADVERSE WEATHER
Weather conditions are beyond our control and therefore we are unable to accept any responsibility for disruption or financial loss caused due to adverse weather conditions however so caused.
DRUGS AND ALCOHOL
We operate a strict no alcohol or drugs policy. Clients who appear to be unfit through alcohol or smell of alcohol or appear to be unfit through drugs, prescribed or otherwise, will be barred from participating*; the instructor’s opinion on this matter is final. Clients taking prescribed medication should ensure that side effects are not likely to inhibit their ability to operate a motorcycle safely.
MOTORCYCLE SUITABILITY
At each stage of your training, you and your instructor will agree on the safest motorcycle for your development. The instructor’s right to veto any particular selection will be made solely on the grounds of safety – the instructor’s decision is always final. On direct access courses, safety constraints may dictate that certain clients should take a light bike test rather than the big bike test. If you wish to discuss this issue in more detail, please call GEG Rider Training prior to booking your course.
CANCELLATIONS
Please note we operate a strict cancellation policy. The minimum cancellation/rearrangement fee for any course/lesson is 25% or £100 whichever is greater. A fee of 50% is payable for all cancellations or rearrangements made within 7 days of the of the course/lesson. All courses/lessons cancelled or rearranged within 48 hrs will be charged in full.
In the unlikely event of a GEG Instructor being unavailable, GEG will not accept any liability for any financial loss suffered by the client. We will not charge the client for the relevant course/lesson.
DRIVING STANDARDS AGENCY
On rare occasions the Driving Standards Agency may rearrange or cancel motorcycle tests at short notice, we shall endeavour to give clients maximum warning of such eventualities. These changes are out of our control and we are unable to accept any liability for losses incurred by such changes. This does not affect your right to claim compensation from the DSA directly.
DUPLICATE CBT (DL196) CERTIFICATE
If your DL196 is still valid and is lost, stolen or defaced and was issued by GEG, we will replace it at a cost to the client of £20.00.
BOOKING A TEST
It is important that you consult your GEG instructor before booking your Part 1 and Part 2 modules.
GEG only use the Chester MPTC for Part 1 and Part 2 modules.
GEG instructors will not take anyone for tests booked before 0930 hrs without prior arrangement.
The practical test (Part 2) will be charged as 3hour session including test.
*Failure to adhere to these terms and conditions will result in the full fee being charged and no refunds given. This does not affect your statutory rights.
