DAS (Direct Access Scheme)

The Direct Access Scheme allows people who are 21 years of age and over to obtain a full (Cat A), unrestricted motorcycle licence after successful completion of Modules 1 and 2
Prior to taking Modules 1 and 2 you must have a valid CBT certificate and also have completed the motorcycle theory test, however, you can still start your DAS training prior to taking your theory test.

Your DAS training takes place on motorcycles of over 46.6bhp, normally at least a 500cc motorcycle.

We have motorcycles available with lowered seats, which make the riding easier and more comfortable for candidates who may struggle to use a bike with a standard seat height.

You will also be trained to ride your machine to include:-

Riding on country roads
Safe use of roundabouts
Emergency stop
High speed dual carriageway work
Road courtesy
Slalom
Slow control
U turn exercise
Overtaking
Manual bike handling
Effective observations
Swerve/avoidance exercise
Town traffic
Hazard perception
(This list is not exhaustive)
